International Public relations is unique in its nature and varies from Local PR in many respects. Though both types of PR campaigns are run with a common objective of providing an image and reach to the client in competitive business, however, both are different from each other on various parameters. A local PR, primarily, is restricted with an objective of providing niche reach and deeper penetration in localized market. A local PR is generally adopted with an approach that it would have better under standing of local issues, society and would be in better touch with local media and communication channels.

Local PR is well, when a certain area is needed to be addressed with communication reach; however, for cross cultural and multinational campaigns Local PR fails to deliver desired results. The first problem for cross cultural campaign faced at local level is lack of control over campaign as running local program in many region raises the problem of duplication thus increases overhead cost for entire region and many a time ill co-ordination at local region and centralized authority create such a mess that entire campaign is needed to be abandoned.

To save one's neck, in this situation, International PR campaigns with a networked approach are adopted to give right direction to the entire PR Campaign. An international PR campaign better understands cross cultural differences resulted as while dealing with a foreign audience. Cross culture awareness for a multinational campaign determines the success or failure of the campaign.

An International PR as measure to understand cultural differences appreciates target language very well. It keeps on regularly checking and double checking of translation of necessary papers and documents, slogans and literature to avoid cross cultural mess during the campaign. These differences of languages are not even need to met out at between two languages, however, there so many changes even exists within a language, for example English has so many variations within it at various region that it is needed to be properly understood.

After language, it is the spoken words which are paid consideration in International PR campaign. Spoken words with cross cultural references are of higher importance in areas of public speaking during press conferences, interviews across cultures. As communication happens to be 'explicit' and 'implicit' across cultures therefore speech should be modified, accordingly. Therefore during an International campaign a speaker is told about cross cultural differences in humor, metaphors, aphorisms and anecdotes.

In International public relation, it is the written communication that is expressed in press releases, features and copy writing holds a special place with references to cross cultural differences and is dealt very care fully so there may not raise any complicity during the PR campaign.
